Adventure Awaits Beyond the Cabin

Designed for ages 13–16 who crave more challenge, more excitement, and more stories to tell.

What Adventure Camp Is All About

Adventure Camp isn’t your typical overnight experience—it’s a one-of-a-kind week packed with challenges, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Campers ages 13–16 spend their days rock climbing, paddling down rivers, ziplining through the trees, and hiking trails that lead to incredible views. They cook meals together outdoors, learn new skills, and build friendships that feel like family.

Adventure Camp begins and ends at Camp Horizons in Harrisonburg, Virginia. From there, campers travel with our trained staff to Circleville, West Virginia, home to NROCKS Outdoor Adventures, part of the Camp Horizons family. Join Adventure Camp as a stand-alone one-week experience or add it to a two-week Camp Horizons stay.

Safety at Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp is a proud part of the Camp Horizons family, operated in partnership with NROCKS Outdoor Adventures in Circleville, West Virginia. Just like Camp Horizons, NROCKS is family-owned and shares our commitment to safety, fun, and growth. Together, we provide a program where campers can explore the outdoors with confidence—knowing they are supported by highly trained staff and trusted facilities.

Staying Connected During Adventure Camp

We know how important it is to stay connected while your camper is away, and we do our best to make that happen—even when Adventure Camp is off the beaten path. Because the group spends much of the week exploring the mountains and rivers of West Virginia, the internet connection can be less reliable than at the main campus in Harrisonburg.

Adventure Camp is all about unplugging, connecting face-to-face, and embracing the moment. While photos and messages are a wonderful way to share the experience with home, the true magic of Adventure Camp happens when campers are laughing by the campfire, paddling down the river, or conquering a climb with their new friends.

PHOTOS & UPDATES

Our Adventure Camp staff do their best to capture photos along the journey. When the group is back in range, we’ll upload pictures to your Parent Dashboard on Campsite and share highlights on our social media pages. While you may not see daily photos, we promise to share updates whenever possible—and rest assured, your camper is too busy having fun to miss the camera!

Letters & Emails

Just like at Camp Horizons, families can send messages through the Parent Dashboard, and campers can reply on special email sheets. However, since Adventure Camp is on the go and internet access is spotty in the mountains, delivery and scanning may take a little longer. We’ll make every effort to get messages through, but we encourage famil
