Jump, splash, paddle, and play—Lake Philippa is pure camp joy! Fly down our 60ft lake slide, launch yourself sky-high on the blob, kayak across sparkling water, or dive into epic team games. Some days it’s all about wild challenges, other days it’s about floating with friends and soaking up the sunshine. With lifeguards always on duty nearby, families know it’s safe, and campers know it’s AWESOME.

Cabins are where camp friendships come alive. Bunks are packed with late-night giggles, secret handshakes, and whispered stories before lights out. Counselors are right there to guide and support, but it’s campers who make their bunks feel like home. Parents love that kids are learning independence (like keeping their stuff organized), while campers love the fun of having their own camp family. Our villages include Rainbow, Starlight Sunrise, and Sunset, and are based on age and are separated by gender.

Mealtimes at Camp Horizons are Essential legendary—a place time when our community gathers everyday making every meal a chance to laugh, share stories, and keep traditions alive. Sometimes even louder and sillier than the campfire! Campers gather in two different dining halls: one for younger campers and one for older campers. This way, everyone eats near their home village, while still keeping that big family energy.

Meals are served family-style, buffet-style, and picnic-style, with plenty of tasty, healthy options (and, of course, camp favorites). All dietary needs and restrictions are welcome and well cared for.  Counselors sit at the tables with campers, making every meal a chance to laugh, share stories, and keep traditions alive. Parents love knowing kids are eating well and feeling included, while campers remember the songs, cheers, and goofy mealtime moments that make dining at camp unforgettable.

On the hottest summer days, nothing beats the pool! Scale the climbing wall, play water polo or basketball, or join in splashy pool games. Or, float and chat with friends while music and laughter fill the air. Certified lifeguards keep watch, so the only thing campers need to worry about is who’s winning the next game of “sharks and minnows.

Get ready to get your hands dirty—in the best way! At the farm and garden, campers feed goats and chickens, plant vegetables, and see how food grows. It’s messy, it’s silly, and it’s so rewarding. ParentsVisitors love the lessons in care and responsibility, and campers especially love that they get to pet animals, snack on garden treats, and hang out in one of the most peaceful spots at camp.

If you’ve ever dreamed of riding a horse, this is your chance! From brushing and grooming to saddling up and riding, campers connect with these amazing animals in real, hands-on ways. Beginners build confidence step by step, while experienced riders sharpen their skills. Parents love the trust and teamwork kids learn—campers love saying, “I rode a horse today!”

Step into the Arts & Crafts Cabin and let your imagination run wild. Tie-dye your favorite t-shirt, paint a masterpiece, weave something colorful, or mold clay into something amazing. Sometimes it’s about making something to keep, other times it’s about creating just for fun. Either way, you’ll walk out with memories (and probably a new bracelet or two) that last way beyond camp.

Camp is the perfect stage to shine! Campers rehearse and learn together in our Performing Arts Yurt.  Whether it’s acting in a skit, dancing to your favorite song, singing with friends, strumming a guitar or trying out improv, there’s something for everyone in performing arts. Even shy campers get swept up in the fun, and by week’s end, they might be on stage at the camp talent show with the whole camp cheering them on.
